Side Door Latch and Other Side Door Products
Side Door Latch
It is a high-strength mechanical part that holds the side door on a car body and is one of our main products, boasting the world’s top market share. ACT’s Side Door Latch are compact and lightweight with high strength that tensile strength greater than 30,000N. This is strong enough to be able to suspend more than 2cars, and this enables the Side Door Latch to play an important part in holding the car body and doors together and ensuring safety in a collision.
Check Link
It is a part that keeps an opened door in a predefined position. We offer lineups of spring type and rubber type check links, which realize easy opening and closing action of doors.
Side Door Hinge
It is a part that maintains the opening and closing action of a door, working closely with a side door latch to strongly hold the side door on a car body and with a check link to smoothly open/close the door.
Back Door Latch
It is a high-strength mechanical part that holds a back door on a car body and is one of our main products boasting the world’s top market share. We have continuously evolved back door latches to meet the needs of the times. In the first evolution of the back door latch, we developed a closer, which was used to close a back door slowly from a half-shut state. This development met a hidden demand for ambulance attendants, because slamming a door causes a sudden rise in the blood pressure of a patient in an ambulance, and was subsequently employed in ambulances. Currently, we offer a lineup of hand-operated to electric release types and electric-powered closers. We also sell back door latches in a range of sizes for small, medium-sized and large vehicles.
Power Sliding Door System
It is a system part that opens and closes slide doors electrically. We are a pioneer manufacturer in door motorization, which launched the power sliding door system in Japan in the 1980s. A power sliding door system maintains a constant opening and closing speed, allowing doors to be opened and closed safely even on a slope. The system is designed so that the doors motor automatically reverse their movement direction if an obstacle is detected, ensuring that the driver and passengers, including small children, can step in and out of the vehicle safely. It is also possible to fit an automatic step which is connected to the movements of the power sliding door system, making it easier for small children and elderly passengers to step in and out of a vehicle with sliding doors that is slightly higher off the ground.
Power Back Door System
It is a system part that opens and closes a back door electrically. We launched a power back door system in Japan in the early 2000s. SUVs, which have become popular in recent years, sit high off the ground and have the drawback that the back doors are difficult to open, especially for women and small children. ACT’s unique motorization unit and microcontroller control, which are used to safely maintain a constant door opening and closing speed, achieves smooth door opening and closing by touching the switch lightly. A pinching prevention sensor also secures safety.

Hood Latch
It is a mechanical part that secures the bonnet, which acts as the cover to the engine room on a car body, preventing it from opening during driving. Because it is attached to the engine room that is exposed to high temperatures, rain, and other severe conditions, it is designed to exercise stable performance even in a harsh environment.
Seat Back Latch
It is a seat part that secures a seat to a car body and maintains a constant seat angle. We offer two types of seat latches: a single stage type, which can retain a seat at a constant angle; and the other is a highly convenient and comfortable two stage type, which can secure a cargo space and provide a dual position for a seat angle.
Trunk Latches
A trunk latch is a mechanical part that fixes the trunk to the car body. In addition to its compact size and thin profile, it also adopts a cleverly designed mechanism that makes it possible for a person to escape easily even when shut inside the trunk’s luggage compartment.

In addition to its main door latch business, Mitsui Kinzoku ACT also develops and manufactures power sliding doors, power back doors and other electrically-powered door assist systems. We also manufacture check links, hinges and other related components.
