Began manufacture of door latches for automobiles

Established Honmoku Plant (now Yokohama Honmoku Center) in the city of Yokohama

Established Kyushu Plant in Saigawa-machi, Fukuoka (now Miyako-machi)

Established Nirasaki Plant (now Nirasaki Technical Center) in the city of Nirasaki, Yamanashi

Expanded into the United States, and established GECOM Corp. in Indiana
