Policy on Compliance Initiatives

Mitsui Kinzoku ACT recognizes that compliance is the most important thing in earning the trust of all of its stakeholders and expanding its business activities on a global scale, and is endeavoring the thoroughly ensure compliance with laws and regulations, corporate ethics, social norms and rules such as internal regulations, as well as the further enhancement of the systems that support such compliance.

Standards of Conduct

All Officers and employees of Mitsui Kinzoku ACT share the values and code of conduct set forth in the Standard of Conduct formulated by Mitsui Kinzoku ACT, and operate with these standards serving as the guide for their conduct.

1. Mitsui Kinzoku ACT's Social Mission
Contribute to society through worthwhile products, encouraging free and fair competition and earn the trust of consumers and users.
2. Awareness and Responsibility as a Member of a Mitsui Kinzoku ACT Group
Maintain an awareness as a member of the Mitsui Kinzoku Group, act with appropriate dignity and responsibility at all times, and maintain ethical and normal relations with political circles and the government.
3. Compliance with Laws and Internal Regulations
Comply with domestic and international laws and regulations and act reasonably in line with the expectations of society.
4. Contribution to Society
Broadly engage in communication with society and actively engage in social contribution. Respect the culture and customs in overseas locations and engage in management that will contribute to regional development.
5. Actively Disclose Information
Disclose corporate information in an active and fair manner and strive to become a company that enjoys the trust of society.
6. Elimination of Antisocial Acts
Have no involvement whatsoever with antisocial forces and groups.
7. Harmony with Environmental Conservation
Endeavor to conduct business activities with consideration for preventing pollution and protecting the global environment, and seek to strike a balance between corporate development and environmental conservation.
8. Maintenance of the Workplace Environment
Respect the human rights, character and individuality of employees, and develop a safe and pleasant workplace environment.
9. Top Management Setting an Example Worth Following
Top management shall recognize their own role in realizing the spirit of these standards, and publicize the standards as best they can after setting an example worth following. In addition, top management shall continuously monitor internal and external feedback, develop effective internal systems and seek thorough compliance with corporate ethics.
10. Clarification of Responsibility
When situations that violate these standards arise, top management will make their intention clear to take a personal role in solving the problem, and make efforts to investigate the cause and prevent recurrence. Moreover, top management is to fulfill its responsibility to promptly and accurately release and explain information to society, and upon clarifying where authority and responsibility lies, impose rigorous punishment, themselves included.

Internal Reporting System

To deal with potential risks concerning compliance, we utilize an internal reporting system which Mitsui Kinzoku has deployed across the entire corporate group, as well as Mitsui Kinzoku ACT's own system and work to quickly deal with acts that may violates laws, regulations or the standards of conduct and impede the development and growth of the company.

Education, Training and Other Initiatives

As examples of compliance promotion activities, the following initiatives are being carried out.
  • Implementation of compliance training
  • Awareness-raising activities such as the affixing of posters, distribution of booklets and dissemination of information over the company intranet
  • Inspections of the state of implementation of safety and environmental measures at all business locations including overseas by a dedicated department
